We’re excited to share our newest NFTE Nexus policy brief: “Insights from the World Series of Innovation: Challenge-Based Learning in Action.”  This brief highlights powerful lessons emerging from the World Series of Innovation (WSI), NFTE’s global innovation challenge that invites young people—ages 5 to 24—to tackle real-world problems aligned to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). With participation from nearly 50,000 students across 88 countries since its inception, WSI is more than a competition—it’s a window into the mindset, creativity, and potential of the next generation.

This month’s brief dives into what we’re learning from the competition: how challenge-based learning fuels career readiness, why students are building ventures rooted in community impact, and what early exposure to entrepreneurship unlocks in terms of cognitive development and creativity. We also share policy recommendations to help expand access to this kind of learning, especially in underserved communities.
